Gabriel Santander was born in Tunisia in 1978 to Argentine-Spanish parents. He graduated in Composition from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in 2009 and received the First Prize in the Flora Prieto Composition Competition 2010, held by the Flora Prieto Foundation in Madrid, as well as the Clang Cut Book Composition Competition, held by the Kammerensemble für Neue Musik KNM Berlin in 2013.

 

He has attended Composition courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Jarrell and José María Sánchez Verdú, among others, as well as seminars on Sound Art with Sam Auinger, Bernhard Leitner, Martin Supper and Sabine Sanio at the Universität der Künste Berlin and studied Composition with Peter Ablinger in Berlin.

 

His works have been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble Komboï, the Artwork Ensemble, Kammerensemble für Neue Musik Berlin, Taller Sonoro or Grup Instrumental de València, at international festivals in Germany, Spain and Argentina.
